The home of great live music and even better Guinness!! Ryan's Bar is a traditional Irish bar with a modern twist. With an excellent outdoor seated area to the rear you can listen to live music all year round. When it comes to live music entertainment you wont find much better.
Ryan's Bar can be found at the heart of any festival weekend. Kilkenny plays hosts to some of Irelands best festivals, the Tradfest over St Patricks Weekend, the Roots Festival in May, the AKA Fringe shadowing Kilkenny Arts Festival in August are just some of the events to be found in Kilkenny City throughout the year.
Andrew Ryan's has been a public house for over one hundred and fifty years and has had rooms to rent for many of those years, mostly to farmers and livestock dealers who attended the nearby Fair Green for the markets held there.
VERY FRIENDLY STAFF AND GOOD ATMOSTPHERE!
I was with friends out on hen back garden a couple of weeks ago, there was a savage band there and even thou we were wrecking the staffs head with making shots and cocktails for us all night they were all very friendly and obliging.
If you want music, best pint of Smithwicks in Ireland.... This is the place to go.
The music is amazing
Bar is clean, toilets are clean... Nice beer garden... Fast serving bar
And Arthur the owners a nice fella
Great live music that makes you want to join in and dance! It is a very busy spot but the service was always very good and the pints of Guinness were excellent. There is a cool music venue at the back and the beer garden is a sun trap. It was the best spot to sit and have a few creamy pints & packets of Tayto after the Dylan & Young concert!!! Thanks Arthur ...we WILL be back SOON!
